Reginald Coleman, Murrell Dobbins CTE High School Reginald is an extraordinary young man who devotes much of his time volunteering at his local church, school and Rubye’s Kids, a non-profit that assists underserved children. |
Health Partners Making a Difference Award
Federation of Neighborhood Centers
The Federation of Neighborhood Centers has a 100-year history of building stronger neighborhoods through policy development and advocacy for low-income families. Among many unique programs, the organization’s Teens 4 Good initiative enlists at-risk youth to transform vacant lots into urban farms. |
Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation
Founded in 1969, PCDC has strengthened the Chinatown community by preserving Chinese heritage and working to build a vibrant and sustainable business and residential district.

| Health Partners Foundation (HPF) works to fill unmet needs and make a difference in disadvantaged communities of the Philadelphia region. The Foundation is primarily funded by employees of Health Partners, Inc., with the help of supportive vendors and other individuals. |

Make Dreams Reality Scholarships Make Dreams Reality provides scholarships to high-achieving low-income students who want to attend college or technical school. The scholarships help bridge the gap between available funding for their education and related expenses. |

Be There! Perfect Attendance Be There! Perfect Attendance encourages students to attend school daily as an important step toward academic and life success. The Achiever's program awards certificates and other honors to 9th and 10th grade students in our partner schools who maintain perfect attendance for at least three of four grading periods. |

Healthy Advances Healthy Advances helps inspire science careers among urban youth by providing an award for the best health-related science project submitted by a student in grades 4-6, at the annual George Washington Carver Science Fair. Cash awards go to the winning student and his or her school. |

Future Leaders Academy The Future Leaders Academy offers non-traditional learning experiences that enable students to gain leadership skills through one-on-one and group mentoring. |

Holiday Food Baskets HPF helps those who might otherwise not enjoy a holiday meal by contributing to food baskets that are donated by Health Partners Inc. employees. |

Holiday Gifts HPF supplements gifts donated by Health Partners employees to help spread the holiday spirit. HPF also offers financial support to other organizations providing holiday gifts.

Summer Heat Emergency Relief Through its Chill program, HPF provides fans to shut-ins, children with special needs and others who require relief from the summer heat. |

Recognizing Those Who Make A Difference Each October, HPF hosts a special awards ceremony to honor outstanding individuals and organizations in the region that are working hard to make a difference in their communities. Past awardees include The Health Federation of Philadelphia, the Food Trust, Inc., and Terri Brown, founder of We Are S.E.E.D.S. |

Supporting Committed Organizations Many other foundations support underserved communities in Philadelphia and HPF helps them succeed even more through small donations. Organizations that have benefited from our support include Mothers in Charge, the African-American Children’s Book Fair, Teen Shop, Evoluer, Rubye’s Kids and many more. |
